Guest Twee Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Hey, this is my first post here, though I've been lurking for a few months I have a Qtek 8080, so of course I use the Arcsoft MMS software that came with it. Today I recived a MMS (as so many times before), but when I tried to open the inbox the 'loading icon' apperead and then nothing happened.. Maybe I was foolish, but I shutdown the phone and then restarted it, and then the real problem appeared.. All of a sudden, I can't start the Arcsoft MMS app at all, it tries to boot and for a second it seems to start, but then shuts down without any error messages at all. I really have no idea what to do now?! Do you think it is some sort of registy problem or what?! I would really like to sort it out asap, since I use MMS quite a lot. Thanks in advance :) // Jonas
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Shutting down the phone when the timer is showing can sometimes cause problems. First of all try uninstalling the app then reinstall making sure you install to the phone and not the storage card, I have not used this app but if it is like the mpx200 jmms app then it does not work properly if installed to the storage card. If none of this works then it does look like it's a Hard Reset time I'm afraid :)
Guest Simon Desser Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 I doubt whether you can uninstall or reinstall this app, as it's built into the Qtek ROM, so I guess a Hard Reset my be your only way to fix it :)
Guest Twee Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 I fixed it :) I hooked it up to my computer, checked if there was any files created at the time when the phone crashed.. and guess what, there was only one file that matched. So I made a backup to the computer, and then removed the file from the phone.. and guess what, it worked perfectly  The actual MMS (a very sweet message from my girl, what a pity eh?! ) wasn't there, but the app works again!! Thanks for all your help though!! All best // Jonas
Guest Twee Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Oh, if anyone wonders, the name of the file I had to remove was pushdata.dat I opened it, and it looked corrupt.. so.. // Jonas
