Guest squall Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Midnight spotted this service that allows you to create your own ringtones, then download them through grps onto your phone. The service supports a variety of phones, but at present the only smartphone is the mpx200 on the AT&T network in the US. Stop paying $1.00-$3.00 per beeping ringtone. Xingtone allows you to make your own REAL MUSIC ringtones from any MP3/WAV file or CD track. Just pick your favorite part of your favorite song and make it your ringtone. Xingtone is available for only $14.95 and you can create an unlimited number of real music ringtones. Think about this, for less than the price of 10 ringtones, you can create as many as you want. And the best part … no more Bing - Bong - Bing! See HERE for more information and to sign up - the service costs $14.95 Or see THIS thread for more information
Guest squall Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 How this works: You download an app to your pc with which you can upload files to there server. When on there server you can carry out editing actions - changing from mp3/wav/mid/cd track and cropping the file. On submission a text message is sent to your phone with a link which you then open. The link targets the file which will be downloaded to your phone. This will incur a grps cost, but seems like a straight forward way to make ringtones
Guest machieru Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 or just buy a phone with which you can use .wav(or other) files for ringtones
Guest Brody Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 or just buy a phone with which you can use .wav(or other) files for ringtones  It is for the MPx200 too! I'd imagine it'll convert mp3's to WAV's for example?
Guest squall Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 I belive the point of the service is to provide file conversion / editing if you dont have it on your pc. you can convert mp3 - wav.
Guest raazzzin Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 there is a cheaper version, same features called ToneThis www.tonethis.com -- also worth evaluating, they seem to have slightly better device coverage
