Guest lutzh Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 hi there, had the chance to take part in a mototraining, where motorola invites sales persons of retail markets to learn about the products. the meeting was related to the mpx200 but they had a MPx there too. i am impressed by the size - see for yourself (pictures made with the htc e200...) cheers, lutz
Guest SystemicAnomaly Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Looks smaller than i thought! niiiice  Did you find out any juicy spec information that we haven't? Was this the production model?
Guest lutzh Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 hi thats exactly the reason why i post the pictures. i was expecting a standard pocket pc formatted device in the MPx, but as you can see very clearly it will be a handy format. as said: the training was related to the mpx200 and in the trainings handbook there where two devices namend as upcoming motorola windows mobile devices: MPx and MPx100. but nothing new or nothing we did not know already. today, there popped up a link to a web shop, offering the MPx already for pre order - check it out and see the fancy price. if that would be the non contract price, i'll order now: CLICK cheers so far. lutz
Guest SystemicAnomaly Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 wow Price without contract: € 399,00 (£266) Quote: The Motorola MPx installed and offers the operating system Windows Smartphone 2003 a broad pallet at multimedia application possibilities. Mad equipment: 1,3 megapixels digital camera for photos and video photographs, Bluetooth, Wireless LAN interface and much more besides.
Guest lutzh Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 only one word for that price message: unreal. see, a ipaq with wlan and bluetooth only costs more than that. add phone stack to a ipaq price and then you'll have a circa price of the MPx. cheers, lutz
Guest mischievous Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Cool post/pics. Thanks. The mpx300 really isn't all that bigger than a mpx200/mpx220 is it? Did you have a chance to hold it as a "phone," and if so did it feel normal or somewhat awkward. Because if choosing between a "phone" and a pack of cigs by my ear, I'll choose the mpx220 otherwise. :)
Guest mischievous Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Wow, just saw that price. If it's real and without service, I'll have to have one of you Brits send one stateside across the big pond. I could live with a pack of cigs by my ear! :)
Guest Taoski Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 It kinda reminds me of the early "3" phones that looked more like a big plastic taco rather than a phone. I hope it is nice to hold... the keys look tiny though! Any feedback on the keys?
Guest lutzh Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 i had folded upwards too. well its heavy (see the specs, somewhat 170 gramms), but absolutly surprising small for what i had expected. hold up, i found a pic of me with the mpx upwards opened: :-) cheers, lutz
Guest lutzh Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 keys are small, veeeery small. but you can type them with the pencil for the touch screen. remember, folks: you dont get a replacement for your tablet pc or notebook... also we can expect nice wireless keyboards then that you can connect by bluetooth or so, you know. this mpx keyboard is just something you will use on the go. cheers, lutz
Guest mischievous Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Dude, with all that money, at least you'd have someone dress you. That look is sooooooooooooooo 80's. At least Steven Jobs has a techie look in his jeans & black turtlenecks. BTW "Bill", how's the bridge tournaments goings? (sorry to be off-topic)
Guest lutzh Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 ...to be honest with you: i wear a more military look when i am off the stage. my wife loves it;-) cheers to all. lutz aka as the german bill g*
