outside screen not displaying contact name

ok Ive read that if you import ur contacts from outlook, that the name wont appear on the front screen but the number will which is because of the (***)-***-**** format outlook uses, well i did some editing and made the numbers appear like this ********** , becuase i read on another post that if you put just #'s that the name will appear. This didnt seem to work so anyone knows how to get the name of the person to appear and not the phone number on the front screen please let me know

the only solution that I have found is to use smartface (free from monolithic) :)

My 8380 only displays the name on the outside screen if the contact is simple (first name with number)

i got mine to show the name on the external display. what you have to do is make sure all the numbers in your contacts and on you sim match. They must have no dashes, parenthesis, etc. And all the numbers must start with 1. Hope it works for you.

hmm i m having the same problem.....but i gues this trick wont work for me since i live in hong kong where all the numbers either start with 2 or 9 or 6........

also my contacts are mostly in chinese so....
