Guest shiwlof Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 This point have been discussed before, if it has just correct me. How can I free up the space on the Flash memory? Currently I have 1mb free on my MPX200 in the Flash IPSM, my SD card has 55MB free, Program memory I have 11.7mb free and Storage memory I have 10.1mb free. Now the Storage memory is used for what? Contacts? SMS'/MMS'? Is there is any way is saving Homescreen to the SD card? Or to point the saving away from the IPSM and load it all on the SD card? I think you understand what I am referring to here.
Guest [flicker] Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but as far as i know, the 'Storage' Memory is for essential system type stuff and like you say sms, contacts and all that stuff. In terms of freeing up the Flash, the best way is to do a hard reset and then only reinstall the things you actually need. I had to do this after something went wrong with my phone and once i'd reinstalled the stuff i needed from the Moto cd included with the phone and my own stuff, i had something like 5.5 mb left on Flash. Which is nice. I think it's mainly the MMS software that takes up a lot of the flash but i don't use mms so getting rid of it was no problem.
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 You want to be installing as many of your apps & games on the SD card as possible. You should get the choice of phone or card as part of the installation process. I would suggest keeping only the homescreens & tones you are actually using on the phone and keep a store of alternatives on the card. Not sure, but Jeyo Personaliser might allow you to use these from the card.
