Guest Xplosive Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Isn't it possible to delete some files in the Windows directory so I can add some new ringtones while I delete the old ones??? I've tried to deleting with the phone, but doesn't allow it. And when I use ActiveSync, I still can't delete the files as they're classified as "read-only-memory" or "protected". Is there any other way to add new ringtones to the phone without deleting the old ones?? If so then, please help out...
Guest kjk Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 just move you ringtones to IPSM/Application Data/Sounds by activsync and select these in settings/sounds IPSM is called Storage in sp2003
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Welcome to the site :) You cannot perminantly delete any files in the main Windows folder, the folder gets re-written every time you restart the phone. This part of the phones memory is allocated for system files so even if you did manage to delete the files you could not use the space you make.
