Guest morpheus2702 Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Just what is says on the can! (Well, poll)
Guest Vector Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 MPx220 for me  the 1.3mp and flash and release date seal it :) Altho if MPx100 isn't long after, then i may go for that...
Guest Colonel Trouble Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 I dont really know ... mpx100 if its cheaper than the 220 ..
Guest midnight Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 too early to say i reckon, gonna have to wait for official specs on the mpx220, mpx100 and the spv c500, i'd like to say the mpx100, but that could be september/october, can i wait that long if theres new devices out in July? Actually, i like the Europhone EG4000, but that hasnt been confirmed (nor denied) as a MS Smartphone OS, same goes for the Anextek ST100
Guest Brody Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 True Mid, the Europhone shots were very nice and a TV tuner in a Smartphone?! Only time will tell...
Guest beersoft Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 my gut feeling is to go with the mpx220, but without having "a play" with the phone, and seeing some reviews its a tricky one to decide the mpx200 is great, so im expecting good things from the 220 and the 100, the HTC thingy might be good, but most likely have a flaw somewhere (you know it will, its htc :) ) the dark horse that is the mys-7, now whats that going to be like? looks nice, has a good spec and the price should be low, if it has build quality it might be the one to get. arggh!! too many choices  later Owen
Guest midnight Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 the HTC thingy might be good, but most likely have a flaw somewhere (you know it will, its htc ) hehe, but the MPx200 has a bigger flaw, those keypad conflicts are horrid and completely inexcusable (trying to get around the keypad conflicts for Kumite is a complete nightmare, much worse than the 5 way problem cos with that you know where you stand) :)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Gotta go with a quadband device. Here in the US, AT&T will become Cingular soon and 850 band is their primary band. SO I don't know how many European phones I'll be able to buy anymore. :)
Guest sparkisgti Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 holy crap.. so many new smartphones i wont know which one to have :? but i do like the look of the new spv :)
Guest midnight Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 i love this situation, having a dilemma about which smartphone to choose instead of having to get a particular model cos its the only one, a long time coming if you ask me. All we need now is for more carriers to pick up the devices, and if rumours are true, thats happening aswell :)
Guest blewer Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Might go for the MPx Not sure though. I think i'll just wait for you guys to beta test them all first
Guest refnulf Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Mpx is what I want. Wonder when it'll be out
Guest mavisdavis Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 :) The devices forum will certainly need a good sort out. It only accomodates the 3 models out at present. Its gonna get pretty big so a reorganisation is required me thinks :? But as to which phone I'll get I have no idea. What I do know is the preimium account tariff over @ Orange is looking sweet as my contract don't run out till Xmas. It allows you upgrade after 9 months
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 The 100 all the way for me, like Mid said its great to finally have a ~good~ range of choices.
Guest refnulf Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 must be nice to have contracts and plans over there, gotta buy the phones here full price :)
Guest Brody Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Just out of interest, where is "here" refnulf? You've not set your location on the forum afterall :)
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Initially, in Jan '03 I got my first contract, I'm 17, still go College, my parents got it me for the Panasonic GD87e, and I was gonna keep that forever and ever! However, I just could not resist the SPV3, and it's just soooooooo advanced! I don't think I'm going to be renewing the contract come January 2005, because I love this phone so much, and it's capable of doing soooooo much for me, it's fantastic!!!! :) One, very happy SPV3 user (most of the time  ).
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 At the moment I'm edging my bets on the mpx100 or mpx as the camera does it for me :) It's a shame the 220 does not have diagonals to help the game players among us, have to wait and see what the other phones have to offer.
Guest Vector Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 Has the MPx processor been confirmed at 200mhz? That would push me away from that personally as that is not very powerful for a Pocket PC when you consider that the XDA2 has 400mhz...
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 Yes, however the XDA2 is 2x the size of the MPx...
Guest blewer Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 It's got to be the MPx for me. I'm fed up waiting for word and excel editors. Plus I love the way it opens in 2 planes :) Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 It's got to be the MPx for me. I'm fed up waiting for word and excel editors. Plus I love the way it opens in 2 planes :) Posted from my SmartPhone! The all-new Panasonic X700 does this, and it's arriving in Autumn 2004, however, it isn't Microsoft powered, but Symbian.
Guest MECX Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 got an MPX200 and an E200 and have decided i like the candy bar design better :-D (although this changes monthly) so i put down MPX100, would have put c500 but HTC makes it. :?
