Guest jmoney37 Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Hi i just bought my very first smartphone, the Mitac Mio 8390, and i'm trying to set up the picture id. It came with this Photo Id program. I go to edit and i choose a picture and save it with the contact but it still doesn't come up when that contact calls me. I tried using the camera to take a pic, changing the resolution of the pics, and even using the sim contacts, but none of those worked. What should i do? Please help. Thanx
Guest pvc Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Got the same trouble, some works, others don't. Gotta call up Ms. Tang, Mitac for the explanation. :)
Guest jmoney37 Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Please let me know if anyone as an answer or if Mitac knows what to do. I really want this feature on my phone.
Guest jmoney37 Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 I've actually solved two problems by doing one thing. Before the caller name didn't show on the external display and the picture didn't show up when they called. What you have to do for both of these features to work is to make sure all the contacts on the phone and on the sim card are exactly identical and that they have no dashes, parenthesis, etc. (just the numbers) and all the phone numbers must start with 1. Example: 15554443333 Hope this solves it for everyone else as well. Thanx for your help.
Guest the bishop Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 check this out -- read about this -- seems that US phones or something on the caller ID is to blame for MS smartphones? article
Guest cclboss Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I have the same problem and it is basically a software bug. Normally, I would store numbers with + which is very standard but this program misses when a local call comes in which only comes across as without the country code. Try setting up a contact with just the number and it will work. My other phone uses IA program and works perfetly. I hope there will be a patch soon.
