Guest dengel Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 I noticed an annoying "feature" of the MSN Messenger Client on the mpx200 that I am trying to find a way around. When you log into your passport account from a phone it alerts the user on the other end that "xxxx is signing in on a mobile device" and places the word "(mobile)" next to your name. For privacy/business reasons, I don't want that info transmitted to my contact list members. I was wondering the following: 1. Am I missing an option to turn this off within the regular client? I could not find one. 2. Is this "mobile user" notification a hardware implementation or is it in the Messenger software? I've made a test account on Hotmail called "[email protected]" with the password "testtest". I was wondering if anyone with an mpx200 would sign in with that account using a third party app like Agile Messenger to see if 3rd party software announces its "mobile" status the way I think MSN Messenger does. All I would need is a login and a message sent that says what client you used... I have not yet bought the 200, I am considering it but the requirement to look like I am at a normal PC is a must. If I can't make it do that, then I have to find something else. Thanks!
