Guest afroahmed Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 hi, cna someone please post some photos taken from their mpx200 camera so i can see the quality plz! thanks in advance,
Guest PDAZealot Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I've had one since they came out last year, and honestly the quality is the same as any other VGA quality camera. It just has to be connected via the SD slot, and make sure you have the Motorola Generic MPx200 ROM installed, or find a copy of IA Album 2.0[version 1.6 won't recognize the camera]. Not always easy considering that neither version was ever released to the general public. It does decent pics, and video as well, but you have to add the unit, as it is not built in, and that's kinda a downer. If you really want a camera, get it, but it's really only exciting for a few weeks, then you realize that any crap camera you buy at the store takes 10x better pics. If you want real pics, i'd wait till the new mpx100 or mpx220 comes out. Sorry, but that's the truth.
Guest afroahmed Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 if its anything like my spv camera that will do fine tbh
Guest afroahmed Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 and tbh u didnt answer my question. Can u please post some pics u have taken from it?
Guest thenet Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 It's not so good because it's have purple round the picture if not have too much light T_T This picture taken from my mpx200 cameraIMAGE_00059.jpg
Guest Vector Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 beersoft has one of these camera's and in IRC he was wondering why the purple ring was there... so he took the casing off the caera and it is because the actual lens is sat too far back in the casing and so gets a shadow from the casing  At least that's what i remember him saying :)
Guest abatis Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Thenet - nice photo. One point to add. You do not need the generic ROM for this to work. Mine works fine with the free drivers from Gaborvision on the ATT ROM. http://www.gaborvision.com.tw/support/driver.htm The camera is the 35D. Even if you don't have the camera it adds the photo viewer to your camera. It is fun to take a shot with this and than email it to someone from the camera (or if you have mms). It is vga quality no better no worse.
Guest afroahmed Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 so will these drivers work on my ORANGE mpx200 wen i get da camera?
Guest afroahmed Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 *bump* can anyone post more pics? cant w8 till i get my camera
Guest TANKERx Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Unless there's been an improvement since I bought my camera for the MPx200, you're going to have to find a way to deal with the horrible purple haze that surrounds photos under certain lighting conditions.
Guest beersoft Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 i did take my camera apart :) its a crappy ccd in the camera that causes the purpleness  the only way i could get rid of the purpleness was to use the zoom at a lower res, which seemed to get rid of it, but the photos looked nasty. when i get home i'll upload some of the picys i took with it later Owen
Guest afroahmed Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 thankyou. Please do so owen. I have heard there is an update to get rid of this puruple haze? is this true and i think there is a link in this post.
Guest abatis Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Afro, You do not need the camera to download and install the Gaborvision drivers. See if they can be installed on the Orange MPX. That will be good info before you think further about the camera. Try these and see if it works. http://www.gaborvision.com.tw/support/driver.htm
