Guest leeson43 Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Ive had my spv e100 for about a month now and was wanting to tweak it a little, im not complaining that the phone is slow but its at times i get frustrated when apps and folders take a while to open. Is this speed issue "understanderble" and am i been a bit impatient or is there something i can do. since getting the phone ive sim unlocked it and am using it on 02, app unlocked it for stuff etc. and have bought a 256mb sd card and loaded it with some music and apps, and the phone itself has, as far as im aware the basics on it but to be sure my programs list is a follows; inbox contacts calendar ie orange back orange up active s call hist orange media* pic manager pocketmpv* settings sim manager smart explorer* sound manager speed dial tasks voice notes windows media accessories; -authentication -calculator -disable secur -infred reccive -mms setup -modem link -shorcut tothermo - this is a dead shortcut games; -solitaire ia style tools -task manager microsoft -msn messenger * the thinds labled with the star are things i have installed to my sd card* all of the rest were on the phone when i recived it, and was wondering how i could speed up the phone in every way possible??? when i run taskmanager the memory info with nothing running is as follows; total - 14.70 storage - free1.43 used 642kb program - free 5.93 used 6.71 flash - free 6.52 used 1008kb i have run the latest rom update from orange on the phone and therefore i just cant get my head around why things arnet lightening fast??? my ispm/windows/startup has the following; addcontact eloff EzPushRouterRegister MMSSvc Orange Support RemoteNotify SmsClassZero USSD if any more information is necessary to help i will give but am willing to delete anything orange related due to my 02 network of course, in terms of performing everything seems fine but windows media player could run smoother/ faster. i appologise for my petty nagging and poor spelling i would greatly appreciate any help. Guest Vector Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Check out http://www.customcabbage.co.uk for some tweaks including a few speed tweaks :) And i would suggest uninstalling the programs installed to the phone and installing them to the SD Card as filling up the memory results in a slower phone :lol:

Guest squall Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 the phone isn't the quickest in the world but o dont find it to slow. If you have hard reset, you wont notice much difference in deleting more files as you already have lots of free space. The phone will slow down if it is becoming to fill, hence why its recommended to install everything to the storage card. The speed tweaks are the only thing that will make a difference, although you could try not have to many files in the start menu folders if you want to make the menus every so slightly quicker. Bottom line is a hard reset and speed tweaks are about as fast as you can make the phone
