Problem Installing Smartphone Config Utility Tool

Hi there,

Recently purchased a SPV e200 new from Orange, and went through the installation process fine with the first 2 programs off the CD, but when I went to run the Config Util program I constantly get an error.

When it attempts to 'import settings from phone' it stops after 2 bars of progress and reads 'Connection Failed. Check your connection and try again'..

I've managed to sync emails ok, have sent ringtones to the phone from my PC and so on, but can't get this to work.

I also don't see anywhere in the SPV menus to access the SD card? I want to add Start menu shortcuts to programs I've installed on the SD but can't figure that out either!

To access the storage card from the phone you need an app

like Smart Explorer from www.binarys.com

Otherwise you have to use Activesync and explore the phone

and card to create the shortcuts you need.

This only lets you enter owner info and set up msn messenger - all of which can be done manually. Not sure why its not running correctly, maybe try a different port?

Owner info can be entered via the settings menu, under owner inforamtion.

Msn can be set up by opening msn.

you need to install smart explorer to do this - see www.binarys.com for more info on there apps.

ah ok thanks, I've already got msn sorted out so I wont be needing the config util
