I checked back to my bookmarked Smartphone2 Device Upgrade link (not shown anywhere on the Smartphone2 page currently) @ http://www.clubimate.com/index.asp?PageAct...=DEVICE_SP2_UPD (Club i-Mate login required) and its currently showing an i-Mate Smartphone2 ROM 1.10.15.2 available. The link to the actual 15.6MB RUU update file doesn't seem to work though, yet... So, maybe within the next couple of days or weeks we should be getting the new i-Mate ROM...

The page currently lists the following updates and fixes:

Rom version 1.10.15.2

Radio version 1.16.00

Improved Battery Life

Improved Audio Quality

Improved MMS client

Headset Bluetooth bonding improvements

Bluetooth Serial Port Profile support

Latest Service Pack 3 from Microsoft

Service codes added to Speed Dials

Call Waiting sound

Latest Radio version

Let's cross our fingers. I'll update more once it's actually available for download and I get a chance to install it! Later.

I know I'm probably not in with the majority of people here, but I wouldn't personally mind if the new I-Mate update coming out has the same problem of where the SD gets shut down after a while and you have to take it out and re-insert it for it to wake up IF this really improves the extremely sucky battery life.

trever,

Can you let me have a copy of the file when you get it please.

I'm building a collection of updates for the E200, QTEK8080 etc.

I would be interested to see which files are actually different from the E200.

Many Thanks

Minimad

So I upgraded and didn't really notice an improvement on battery life the first day!?!? I then did a clear storage from the accessories, hard reset via the bootloader, upgraded again, and then did another hard reset via the bootloader. After all this it seems like the battery life IS better... I'm pretty sure... I'll give it a few more days and see...

Confirmed, the battery life is much better (even with the SD card inserted). And so far, the Bluetooth headset range seems to have improved too. At least now it doesnt crackle if I use a bluetooth headset with the phone in my trouser pocket.

The better battery life and bluetooth performance could be due to the much newer radio version.

Well today I used my phone alot and my battery power is still pretty good... As of today I am really happy wiith this improved battery power... Next I'll see how the bluetooth works...

Oh yea, one thing that kinda annoys me (which also happened in the older ROM too) is that it takes FOREVER to boot up?! It boots up quick after I do the upgrade oor hard reset, but then after I add all my apps and delete the IA caller ID shortcut in the startup folder it takes forever for the phone to boot up...

Any iideas?
