Can't access secure site

I used to be able to access a site protected by a .htaccess file on my phone.

I have exchanged my phone recently and restored by old data using sprite backup.

Now when I try to access the secure site the authentication box does not appear and I am denied access. I have deleted cookies and it makes no difference.

I think the phone is passing an incorrect username and password and that is why authentication is failing.

How do I get to enter a new username and password for this particular site?

Any ideas?
