MPX 200 - Firmware Upgrade Question

MPX200 USA AT&T.

Performed firmware upgrade to 1.0.12.63 to release GSM 900/MMS/Camera.

All seems well.

Questions:

1. Does the firmware upgrade do anything for reception? Will the upgrade do anything with regard to ability to receive signal (GSM 1900 USA T-Mobile)

2. I saw a post that indicated that the firmware upgrade does not really open GSM 900.. Has anyone experienced this..?

3. Does anyone know of a FREE SIM Unlock for MPX200?

4. The MPX200 comes with WM2002 loaded. Is WM2003 available? Has anyone upgraded the software on an MPX200? Is this a simple task? Do I need to wait for AT&T to release WM2003 to get the upgrade?

1, It's not an upgrade but more of a downgrade, it's a ROM that was leaked from moto and so not legal, for example I have one of the first UK released mpx200 and my version is 1.0.22

2, Seems to be a mixed response to this one. some people

claim it only enables the showing of the 900 band but does

not actually allow the use of it.

3, There is not a free option to SIM unlock the phone, but the

best and most reliable site is http://www.imei-check.co.uk/

4, There is not a public release of 2003 at the moment, for warranty and

support it would be best to wait for an official release but chances of that

happening are not good especially with the new phones being released

soon.
