Guest Jon_ Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Had my E200 for just over a month, after a week away with work i returned home to a letter saying that my bill was overdue and i owed orange £57, i had never recieved any bill, just the welcome letter from orange, and that if i dont pay within 5 days my phone may be barred. I paid this imedietly using my banks online facilties. Yesterday morning my phone recieved a number of sim updates and my phone had been bared, after 2 calls to orange customer services telling them what had happened i was told to try after 6pm to see if the payment cleared. Tonight i made it through to someone who actually knew what they were talking about, and the fact that online payments take 5 working days to be processed, and the only way i could use my phone and have it unbarred was to make apayment using my switch card and then leave the money in my account for future bills, or try to get a refund. What i am annoyed about really is that I never recieved any bill, all my other mailings from orange have got to me ok, and the fact there was only 1 reminder letter before my phone got bared, and the fact ive had to pay my bill twice now. Anyone else had these problems with orange or is this a one off fault?
Guest [flicker] Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Have to say i've never had any problems with Orange. My phone has had a bar placed on it a few times (mainly due to me being a poor student!) but i've always been well informed and well in advance of it actually happening. Whenever i've had to speak to them about anything they've always been really helpful. I would suggest though that the best way of paying your bill is on the automated billing line using your bank/credit card. It's quick and easy and goes through straight away plus if you do have a bar on your phone it sorts it out a lot quicker. Usually no more than a few hours after you pay. Failing that, talk to someone because if they can you've paid then they can lift the bar pretty much instantly. Anyways...enough of me babbling on......need....more....coffee......
Guest xmob Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 And if you don't have a credit/debit card, you can pay cash in an Orange Retail store. Just make sure you ask the assistant to email collections letting them know you've paid.

Definately, but that is one reason i don't generally pay in an Orange Shop because both times i've done that, receipt of payment hasn't gone through for 3 or 4 days whereas if i pay on the automated service it's instant....as long as you trust computers.......
