Guest samo123_uk Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 O have just noticed on the StarDock (windows blinds fame) site that there is a PocketBlinds PocketBlinds is the first free form skinning extension for Windows CE 3.x or later (PocketPC). PocketBlinds allows you to skin the title bar completely and add/position as many buttons as you can fit. Moreover, it is compatible with the WindowBlinds plug-in format allowing users to easily make their own title bar "gadgets" (MP3 players, stock tickers, memory meters, etc.). It's also free. Two things to remember: (1) PocketBlinds integrates directly into the OS by extending the Windows CE GWE(Graphics, Windowing, and Events) subsystem, so it is fast and small. (2) PocketBlinds skins are truly free form. It also has an open plug-in architecture, which means that users can make their own plug-ins to extend the navigation bar.. It also means users have a great deal more control over where a button is placed. Has anyone tried this on the smartphone? Mine is off for repair so i cant try it :)
Guest samo123_uk Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 Its the same OS though... Windows CE.....
Guest squall Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 er no its not - the spv has smartphone 2002 os and spve200 has windows mobile 2003 smartphone edition. Windows ce is different but it does cause alot of confusion
Guest nedge2k Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 Basically yes they do share the same core OS. However, only PPC apps that dont require any user input WHATSOEVER will run on SP2002/WM2003. Therefore 99% of PPC apps will NOT run on smartphones due to not having a touchscreen and even if they do, the screen is too small to be able to fully understand whts going on anyway.
