Guest joecov Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 whats the rule with this with regard to orange care? does it allow you to choose a different phone after you have had three replacements? Do orange stipulate which phones you are allowed to have? cheers
Guest drblow Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 Not too sure how many replacements it is (but I think its 3), but you will be offered, or should be offered a DMR (Different Model Replacement). Currently tho, the offers for replacing an e200 are Treo, N**ia 6600, or 7250i. I've been offered these but have refused as they are pathetic replacements for an e200. Wait a while for the next batch of phones to be released.

The only time you can get a different phone is if they are out of stock of the one you have registered. Sorry!
Guest joecov Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 ok, its just when I had my first e200 replacement the cs rep said after three replacements, which were due to the phone not working properly they would offer me a different phone..... mmmm Ill see what they say

I have alrady had a DMR from Orange, and it wasn't because the SPV was out of stock, it was because I had it replaced 4 times for the same issue, which tech support were incapable of fixing, and eventually a CS supervisor offered me a different model replacement to an e100.
Guest squall Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 I have heard of many people being offered alternitives after 3 replacements - be it official or not orange cs are prone to doing it

With respect, the official Orange UK policy is not to authorize an DMR replacement unless the phone is out of stock. I accept there maybe special circumstances in which a DMR could be authorized.
Guest drblow Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 That is genuinely interesting news! If official Orange policy is not to issue DMRs unless out of stock, then the SPV range must have had quite an impact on that. Several people here have posted about it, and I know several others, who have all had a different model replacement during their ownership of SPVs. Makes you wonder does anyone at Orange actually notice things like that, and if they do, do they actually care? You would tend to think that a product which was causing problems that could only be addressed with customers by breaking company policy, that things would be put into action to stop that happening (for me, the DMR was about a year ago). & then they go release the e200 with a multitude of problems, and an update that makes things even worse!?!
