Guest jo12 Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 show me a working version then, even orange could not get the headset to work STRANGE BUT TRUE
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 I think it's time everyone calmed down, the initial reply was said in jest as the smilies showed. As for a site you could try www.my-symbian.com The E200 does have working bt which I have seen working well with GPS etc. It's best to post facts before slating :D
Guest jo12 Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 im not upset im mad, not at the forum or the reply but at orange and the makers of bluetooth
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Agree, it would be nice for Orange to have staff trained in specific phones, there would be more happy ppl then.
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 jo12, seriously mate, good luck with the 6600 :D I understand your frustration with Orange but at my / our cynical age wouldn't expect any alternative to be much better. Grass always being greener etc  Thing is, they don't build 'em like they used to ... :D
Guest Highl1 Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 also try www.mediaplace.nl its a good site
Guest shadamehr Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 at least the 6600 has bluetooth, can you say the same for the spv e200 NOT!!!!!! OK, saying this FRIENDLY too, cos I don't want to fan flames, but tell me this. With my E200, I can connect to my laptop via Bluetooth, and use an Active Sync pass-thru, to browse the internet, send and receive emails, and chat on messenger, entirely for free. Not bad for something with poor Bluetooth eh..? Now, can YOU do this with your wonderful 6600 with super bluetooth? The answer which I will give for you as a Symbian Nokia user myself, having two N-Gages and a 7650, is NO, you absolutely can't. The limited web browser on Symbian devices, INSISTS on you launching a dial up connection from the services menu before opening up, so no BT pass thru there. Opera IIRC is bundled with the 6600, but I see no difference here. Email sending and receiving viq BT passthru on the 6600 is a nightmare, but potentially possible I admit. As for Messenger, Agile Messenger CAN use a BT pass-through using the Nokia M-router software, but as WELL documented on the web, it doesn't work properly then using BT instead of a real dial up connection, in that it will not show people as online who are, or messages sent will not be delivered. So, to ask again, I can sit on the toilet in an idle moment, and send and receive email, chat on messenger etc, and browse the internet all for free, using Bluetooth and a passthru connection to my Laptop's Cable Modem, on my E200, with the poor BT you allude to. Can you do this on a Nokia 6600 with the supposedly good BT? Nope. Not. Hope that helps impress the message that you need to weigh up ALL aspects of the phone before making sweeping statements mate.
Guest jo12 Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 i agree with all that you have said, BUT!!!!! i am happy with the 6600, i can get the headset to work, it is a sad fact that that is all that i wanted the phone to do in the first place. I have had all the spv's and must say that the e200 is by far the best, but when you have 78 pound bills coming in because you are not informed that you have left wap sites then you also start to get a little upset ( to be fair, it is the wife that is upset)
