Voice Dialing using headset

Motorola have told me that pressing the PTT button briefly (Push To Talk) on the stereo headset supplied with the phone should activate voice dialing by prompting you to enter the name of the person you want to dial (previously configured voice tag)

I have been unable to do this - has anyone been successful doing this and would it be worth sending the headset / phone back to get this fixed bearing in mind alll the other posts from users unable to get voice dialing to work.

Voice dialing works fine for me. Just not by pushing the button on the headset i'm afraid. I think Moto might be mistaken on this one.

By pushing the jog dial on the side inwards!

when it doesn't appears the volume control, it opens the voice notes...

You have to add a voice tag in contacts first before pressing the jog dial works.

1) When setting voice tags, I have noticed after the phone has accepted my voice record, that there is an option to play the voice tag record. When I select this no sound is played - anyone have any ideas why not ?

2) Also on the rare occasion that I can press the jog dial in rather than entering voice dialling mode, the phone goes into the voice memo program instead

1) Make sure the volume on your handset is turned up.

2) This is a known issue. The jog dial is shoddy with a lot of presses resulting in the volume control option or voice record programme appearing. You need to hold it in for longer to get voice dialling.

Thanks - I made sure that the headset volume was on then I could play back the voice tags (too many false attempts trying the jog dial and getting headset volume instead)

I would be surprised if it would work, on the SPV the button was used for mute function during a call so chances are it is

only going to do the same thing :?
