Guest m4nd4li4 Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004  I want to setup my SPV E100 to access wap sites only. I tried to do search on this forum, but there appears to be a problem with this. So if somebody can point me in the right direction I would be very greatful. Many thanks, m4nd4li4
Guest martin Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004  I want to setup my SPV E100 to access wap sites only. You might have to explain a bit more of what it is you are trying to do and why :? Are you talking about WML pages or are you trying to limit yourself to a particular APN ?
Guest m4nd4li4 Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 I would just like to access WML pages only. Sorry, but what is APN?? Regards, m4nd4li4
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 If you go to the Orange website you can fill in a form and get them to text you the settings. You open & delete the SMS and the job's done :D (Yeah, what is the difference between WML & APN ? :? )
Guest martin Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 WML (Wireless Markup Language) is a language used to create internet pages for the WAP microbrowser. Access Point Names are defined in the gateway GPRS server and relate the to the service. I would just like to access WML pages onlyI assume that you are talking about text only WML pages. You could always use a WAP proxy server that is heavily restricted like 193.113.200.195:9201 Then again you could just as easily access these WML pages normally through your present WAP setup and avoid the pages that you don't want :?
Guest m4nd4li4 Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 :D Thanks Guys! Everything is now OK. I can get text only wap using the proxy setting. Many thanks m4nd4li4
