Guest T&A Man Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I'm having problems logging into MSM using a pass-thru connection on my PC via Bluetooth. I know that the Bluetooth Internet connection is working fine because I've surfed the Internet on my E200 with no probs. I just get: "Sign-in to the Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding. Try try again later." A quick search on the Microsoft website offered this: Microsoft MSM Bug http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;832515 (extracts) #### CAUSE This problem occurs if too many network connections are set up on the device. If this behavior occurs, MSN Messenger will not sign in because Connection Manager times out before it can establish the connection. WORKAROUND To work around this timing issue on a Pocket PC or SmartPhone device, reduce the number of connections that are configured on the device. For example, if the device has six dialup connections and six proxy connections, delete any connections that are not generally used. #### Part of the article (not shown here) noes that this is only relevant for Smartphone 2002 1.0. Since the E200 runs WM2003 I'm guessing this should no longer be a problem? Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how I'd even follow the workaround mentioned on the Microsoft website? Thanks...
Guest joelmb Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Yup i have exact same problem. I also looked at that ms article which isnt much help is it?! I tried deleting some of the unused network connections on the phone as MS suggest but did no good. I connected to it via gprs just the once, but now I cant connect to msn messenger client itself, or via Agile messenger, via gprs, pass though, or bluetooth. I get the same message. I suspected it might be msn servers but i can connect via pc no probs so cant be. i can connect to icq fine, and surf the net like you so its not the connection. Very annoying.
Guest T&A Man Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Nice to see that at least one person is in the same boat as me :D Is no one else having these problems? Are we the only two who can't use MSM while soaking up the sun outside without using GPRS!? BTWNice to see that at least one person is in the same boat as me :D Is no one else having these problems? Guest joelmb Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 yes, e200. Go to start>settings>data connections>menu>edit connections you can the highlight a connection, click menu>delete. Do this with caution as you might inadvertently delete one you need to use! I have since been able to connect via gprs on occasion, but its very tempremental.
