Guest shakers24 Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Hi Folks I used to have an SPV E100 some times back but since went for an XDA because I wanted tomtom GPS. Is there any software and any hardware that supports GPS for the smartphones? If so I will probably buy an E200 or wait for the C500 and buy such an item I think the way to go is bluetooth and I'm assuming there wouldn't be a problem getting a bluetooth GPS unit to talk to the bluetooth SPVs however I can't find any GPS software for the SPV. I'm not too bothered about the quality of the on screen maps, I'm more bothered about the voice navigation which is fantastic on tomtom on my XDA many thanks - hoping to convert back to an SPV based phone ! 8)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Mapopolis is a cool GPS app for Smartphone, see the thread in the news forum. If you get an e200 or c500 then most BT GPS mice should work fine with the app.

Guest levanter Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 TomTom are planning to release a SmartPhone version in Q3 this year. I have had the last few versions of TomTom and I also use it on my motorbike just by using the vocal directions alone. The Smartphone version even with a small screen will be GREAT !! Great work TomTom. TomTom for SmartPhone
