Guest shaun Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Hi Guys, I am am having problems with my replacement E200 and file permissions. When I had my first E200 last December I moved shortcuts around and nested some folders to make the start menu more useable. I have just had a replacement E200 because the back key and No4 key where repeating making the whole thing unusable. I have re-installed all my software, including all-explorer and set about moving files. But I am having problems with the games directory off the start menu (and the Solitaire and Jawbraker lnk files) all I want to do is move these files into a games sub directory of accessories. These are only lnk files, and I have tried changing the properties by unchecking the system flag. But all explore just says error changing attributes. I just can't get the lnk files to either delete or move. I have also had a problem installing a home screen. I have tried one from the homes screen section, copied the cab to my phone and tried to extract it using all-explorer. The extraction runs but then the E200 reports that it can't install due to permission issues. I don't recall any problems like this when i had the phone last December, has anyone got any ideas? Had the new update introduced anything? Thanks shaun
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 I can't help you with the menu problems but the system permissions error means you need to application unlock the phone. Out of the box you can install some unsigned apps etc but not others. Homescreens are usually ones that won't load. Go here to OTA unlock your phone : http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx
Guest shaun Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Thanks, the unlock thing has fixed the install of the home screen. :D shaun
