Bluetooth And Hubs For INet only?

My BTs working mint at the minute through a single USB1 port on my lappy. I have a 4 Port USB2 PCMICA which Id like to use my dongle through.

Now Ive read that ActiveSync wont work through a hub, fair enough, but do you need ActiveSynce working to use anything else BT/Fone related.

Can I use the hub say, to pass through my net connection?

Unless you are using bt for connecting to your pc via Activsync then a hub can cause problems as your pc needs Activsync to talk to the phone :D

Aw well, pity that it wont just for a net connection :D

Hopefully BT will take off a bit better in the upcoming future :D Itd be nice to be able to connect through a hub, walk across road to the shops/pub while still using messenger lol

well, I am currently using a USB HUB with my BT dongle, but ti's an active one, it's got power by it's own dc, that's the issue. For WIndows, it's no matter if you connect the dongle dirreclta to the laptop or via a hub (in fat, the USB jacks on your laptop are treated by WIndows as root hubs anyhow), because communication will work in any way, BUT an HUB can only provide some ammount of power via the USB bus, usually 50mA I think. and a USB BT Dongle might consume far more, mine wants 100mA.
