Guest punker Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Hi everybody, I've got a problem with Gnuboy: First I had it installed on my SD-Card, and it worked very good (very impressive software!!!), but with the use of SmartExplorer I copied it on my phone.... And that's where the problems started: First Gnuboy booted correctly, but hang on the start-screen (where you choose the ROMs). I tried to deinstall it with the help of the Deinstaller, but it wouldn't help, and told me "it could not deinstall Gnuboy correctly".... Then I tried to install it new, with help of the CAB-file: It won't let me!!!!!!!! F**k windows.... So now I cannot play Gnuboy... and that's a big catastrophe!!!! Help me please! Which files are installed where???? How can I deinstall it correctly? Thank's again... and special greetings to spacemonkey... this is one hell of a piece of software!!!!!
Guest agent.m Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 cant you just go to storage card and delete the gnuboy exe ? try that and see what happens also delete the shortcut  if you give me more info on where and how you installed it i can be more of help. let me know if this works :D
Guest punker Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Hi, well I did delete the gnuboy.exe-file (there is nomore file named that way wether on the SD nor on the Smartphone itself!!!). I think the problem is that the Installation-Log of the Smartphone has the feeling Gnuboy.exe is still on the phone, while it isn't (one file somewhere???)... >>> Options/Delete Programms: Gnuboy is on the list. When I try to delete it, I get following message "Spacemonkey gnuboy could not be deleted from your phone"... And when I try to install it (I hoped the files would be written over...), and open the CAB file on my phone, it then says: "Spacemonkey gnuboy could not be installed".... ......???
Guest jmrecanize Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 O.K, there might still be a file on the phone that is telling the phone that its is already installed, and i might know which file it is. Go into IPSM/Windows/AppMgr and there will probably be a folder called Spacemonkey gnuboy or along those lines. Delete that and then try installing it again. I dont know what version you have though cos the version i had was just the exe that you had to copy accross. No cab file. Note: this is not 100% certified to work as i have tried it before but not in the same situation as you. By doing what i have said you are doing so at your own risk.
Guest punker Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 No, no, no.... Under the AppMgr is no file or folder named Gnuboy or seeming to be part of Gnuboy... That's strange!!! I checked the whole smartphone for a file called Gnuboy (or similar)... No chance! Still it is listed in the AppMgr.... I'm going crazy... Thank's again for trying to help.
Guest Stomski Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Are there not appmgr registry settings??
