UNINSALL infos and files-to-be-deleted

Hello board,

well, I got some questions about the Smartphone 2003 OS, noone could anwere yet.

1. What does the FilesToBeDeleted Folder do? It can be found on Storage and on Storage Card

2. On PPC I always delted the installlation files left over after uninstalling an application. It is on PPC like this: when you install something via AppManager, it generates a .DAT, sometimes a .dll in windowsAPPMGR and it makes registry entries in HKLMSOFTWAREAPPS, on both places with the name of the Software specified in the installation INI that was used with AppMgr. when you uninstall a programm, the registry will contain some change of some infos, though installed[1] will be installed[0] and the InstallPAth will be deleted etc. BUT the Key as itself resists in the registry though consuming space, and the .DAT in windowsAppMgr also keeps eating up your memory even though you never want to install the application again and if so, windows does not need to know that it was installed before, there is definitively no need for that when you uninstalled it already.

So, my question is, HOW can I delete the files on a Smartphone2002 that keep lurging in StorageWindowsAppMgr[software name] ? They are .TMP files, content unknown, but as I uninstalled toe software I do not want them to at up my space. I tried to delete them, but neither Resco explorer nor ActiveSync coul delte the files or the folders, it has no permissions.

thanks for your help

regards

yves

You could try Smart Explorer as the files should be possible to

be deleted. You may need to reboot your phone first before

deletion.
