sorry, i couldnt search the forums because i keep on getting a general error: Could not delete old search id sessions when trying to search modaco.

This is what happened: I installed a theme with sounds. I got tired of it so i uninstalled it. After that, all the sounds got reset to "Alarm1", even the startup and menu popup sounds. How can I reset this without doing a hard reset?

thanks:D :D

Edit the registry, here's the path

HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelSoundsSystemStart for your start-up sounds. Just specify the path of the sound you want to use.

For pop-up sounds go to HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelSoundsMenuPopup.

if you want to have a look at hkcu, hklm & other registry settings, you need regedit (registry editor)...

@merlin

DbView is a database viewer/editor for SP. You'll be able to view records of system heap, mxip, cemail and messenger vol files. You can also edit/delete some record using DBView as in the case of phantom SMS.

PHM Registry Editor is a different application. With PHM RE, you can view registry directories and settings, edit, create keys, strings etc in the registry.

You have to be careful though with registry editing coz you might mess up the registry settings...corrupt registry might nuke your phone. :D
