Did the problem move with the batteries or stayed with the phone?

Check the phones OS version and what apps etc are installed.

are the phones used in the same way? using a phone for mp3 or video for example will dramatically cut the battery life

Which one is giving the poor battery life? the new or the old one?

This is then possibly pointing to an OS update problem improvement.

its the newer one...

orange uk...

smartphone 2002

version 3.0(build 13258)

radio version 1.0

rom update versions

operator 1.0.22.64

manufacturer 1.0.22.64

microsoft 3.0.13258.0

language

file sstem 3.0.13258.0

every thing is the same of the two phones yet he newer one when not in main screen has a little phone and person icon next to the battery information..

edit - the only differnece software wise is the new one has mms setup in accesarries... should not make any difference tho...

The icon you are seeing is the caller ID app which is running in the background on the newer phone.

This could be where the differance is coming from.

To get an accurite result try a hard reset on the new phone to get rid of

the preinstalled junk.

are both your phones running the same rom? possibly attwireless? sounds a lot like my phone when it was running the attwireless rom... i recently flashed to the generic rom and my battery problems have seem to dissipate. before my phone would die over night, even having gone through a day of standby it would die overnight. after flashing my phone i noticed that the next day it was still running strong with a little more then half the battery power left.

maybe flashing to the generic rom will help... as it did for my phone. after flashing my phone to the generic rom my phone now lasts 2 days without having to recharge =) havn't charged it all day yesterday and today and it finally decided to give in haha. still that is two days! i strongly believe it was the rom.

With the version listed above you should be getting 2-3 days

To note I do not have the caller ID or the jmms apps installed.
