Guest fraser Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 Hey All, There are four new games on Orange Update, however when trying to install it tells me I need to download a JIVEplayer package. Has anyone heard of this? Modaco search suggests no... Some good sounding games too, darts, checkers, backgammon and something called bounce.

Guest fraser Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I'm still on the original SPV. I could post the installer here for one of them, but I'm not sure on the copyright. They all almost install OK, until the error message about the JIVEplayer thing. At that point the install backs out. Everything is normal with the installer, identical to all other cab files. I know someone at Pixel, so I might drop them a mail and see if I can get an answer on it. Agent.m's links mention the platform. Might be able to get myself a wee beta of it... Very strange how that I am the only one seeing these on the updater. Yesterday I did it through the dock internet pass-thru. I just ran it again on GPRS and they are still there.
Guest agent.m Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 what are your region settings???? maybe if i change mine i might get something new???
Guest fraser Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 what are your region settings???? Just the defaults, never changed them. I can't see any user-changable settings in the update tool.
Guest mavisdavis Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Can you get a screen shot? Use SmartSS. Ive spoken to O and they know nothing about them? If you grabbed a screenie I will email them and find out what the crack is. Are you signed into some sort of trial ?eg..3G Data one at the moment? :?
Guest fraser Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Here you go, a screen grab of it. The other updates I have available are two pictures, "5 phones" and "Portugal Flag".orangeUpdate.GIF
Guest Jayenkai Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Not sure why, but those sound eerily like Java games to me.. Maybe it's the Bounce that's doing it!?
Guest fraser Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I just downloaded "Bounce" again. It's a SIS file, whatever that is. Another poster put up some links to press releases that named the platform "JIVEPlayer". The company isnt the one I thought it was tough, slightly different names.
Guest blewer Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 SIS files are for symbian software :? Don't know how these are showing up on Orange update??????
Guest fraser Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Tell me about it!! They were cab files yesterday instead, and they were proper SmartPhone installers
