Guest PhilT Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Hi All, Firstly, I have to say this is a great resource for Smartphone info. Recently I decided to upgrade my trusty Nokia 6310i (I have a l_o_n_g history with Nokia) to the SPV e200.... It was free, so difficult to say 'no'!! Anyways, here is what I think of it: Within about 2hrs of getting it I tried to flash the ROM but it caused a Windows Application error. After reading this site I found the 'fix'. BTW Orange spent about 3 hours on the phone with me, and couldn't fix it. When I explained the fix, they told me my phone wouldn't be supported by them as I didn't use their software. So with hacked application of ROM, I proceeded to investigate the functionality of the e200. Seems like a pretty good phone, except the following. 1. Camera sucks - I have attached a picture from my camera, I think the quality is poor. Before you ask I have all the setting to max size, and max quality. 2. Earpiece, and mic volume too low during call - People have complained that they can't hear me (Lucky them :D ). Funny that when I play an MP3, it sounds great!! So, having had enough I decided to try the Orange Update again (RUU_v2.4_OrangeUK_v2.6.1.3.exe), this time it went on without any issues (except nuking my SMS's etc :D ). My biggest issue at the moment is the phone keeps freezing. I normally have the keys locked: 1. I go to unlock the phone, nothing happens - Remove battery  2. Receive SMS, go to unlock phone, nothing happens - Remove battery, lose SMS  I suppose my questions are: 1. Am I the only one with this freezing issue? 2. I can't live with a phone that loses texts. Any guidance anyone? Thanks, Phil.IMAGE_00013.jpg

But, am I the only one that thinks that they could be better? I have a Casio Exilim, which rocks. But the point is to limit the amount of junk you carry around. Why call it a "camera phone" then?
Guest PhilT Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Thats a nasty truck. :D Thought that would raise some interest  . It belonged to the "shuttle" driver at the Marriott I was staying in whilst at TechEd in San Diego. Air suspension and very funny as he drove off playing Lowrider (War) and doing the whole lowrider thing :D .
