Guest scottyucl Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Im having the day from hell with my SPV today, after sorting out my previous problem this morning i now come up to yet another task. I wanted to put all my old folders like my documents onto my new SD card from my old one but will it have it? WILL IT (edit language)!!!! After getting into active sync i went to the storage card which is empty and dragged across the my documents folder. Then the computer bleeps at me and gives me this message: "Cannot create folder My Documents: Access is denied. Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that the file is not set as read-only, and that you have permsission to copy this file type." I do have enough memory (all 246MB of it), and the file is not read-only. Can anyone help me once again, i would be very greatful. Scott
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Try formatting the card from the phone with Task Manager
Guest scottyucl Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Iv tried that and it just gives me a message saying "Error while formatting the card!" Bloody thing GRRRRRRRRr
Guest squall Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 are you sure the write lock - the sliding switch on the card is set to allow info to be written to the card?
Guest squall Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Slide it over to be sure. If that doesnt work it sounds like the card is faulty
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Another thing to try is to use a card reader to format the card.
Guest scottyucl Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I have tried formatting in using my phone and it won't do it, i have tried doing it using a card reader and it still won't format i think the card is doomed!! Does anyone know any good makes that they know works with the SPV e200 Cheers all for trying to help
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Sandisk work well from what pople have posted here. I do not have an E200 so cannot confirm %100
Guest squall Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 i have 256 sandisk card and that works fine on all my smartphones. I dont even have the problem that seems to effect some users with the sd card switching off after a period
