Guest flyswat Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 After about the fourth time my phone has had problems I am now looking to move away from Windows Mobile and onto Symbian software. Firstly, my phone has just decided to reset itself about three times so far within the last 9 months. It displays a message, of which I cannot remember, then resets, re-certifying my phone and deleting all settings. After de-certifying the phone, not all the programs then work without reinstalling. It's a pain in the a***. Now, it has decided it is unable to receive a phone signal, forcing me into doing a hard reset (if I can work out how). What good is a phone that cannot fulfil its primary function. Has anyone else had these problems or anythink like them? If it's just my phone then fine, it can be replaced, but if it's the operating software, then Nokia here I come..
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Hello :D Whats the ROM version you're using? The latest from Orange (for e100, SPV) is 1.6.1.10 http://www.smartphonefrance.com/rom.asp Auto Reset/Semi-Hard Reset (whatever they call it) could be due to corrupt registry and low battery. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=109237 Tip: Try Sprite Backup software to backup (and restore) your phone's last best configurations )system and personal data). That will save you time re-installing your apps.
Guest flyswat Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 My problems seems to have got worse!! I cannot hard reset. I get to the 'canary' screen, hold the action key for a couple seconds and nothing happens?? help.
