i600 mic volume issue??

Hi Folks,

I have what appears to be a low mic volume/gain issue.

First. I've tried 2 headsets and the mic volume is extremely low. The

Included Samsung headset is almost unusable and my Nextel is just a bit better.

Second, When I record a note or the Voice Signal app reads the name of a

contact that either I've trained or not, the volume level is extremely low and the speaker must be brought very close to my ear to be able to make it out.

I can make it louder by talking louder but I have to talk much louder than a normal tone (which I'm pretty loud anyway)

All other operations are fine.

Is there a setting I'm not seeing and setting in the software....or is

this bad hardware....or normal

Sure seams like software.

I have this issue as well. I have searched endlessly for a fix and as far as I know there are no settings for the microphone.

Well,

I went to two VZW stores and tried two phones and they are all exactly the same.. It turns out that if I use the record option speaking right into the phone it works ok albeit there is alot of background noise in the recording.

I did also make a call with the included headset and it works ok but not great.

I also called Samsung and they said it was a bad phone.....dont think so, I think it's software. If we ever get a sp2003 upgrade or someone writes a sound app then maybe we can fix it,
