Could we sort the task in smartphone 2003 ? Moreover, I got a lot of task not started yet, could I configure such that only tasks started are displayed?

Thanks,

As in Outlook tasks? Get something like Oxios Todo or Developerone Task Manager, both available on www.handango.com and great pieces of software :D

You could give Tasks+ a try. You can't do as complicated lists with it as with the other two above but it's free.

I download the trial outlook task manager+ from handango. It has two file inside : _setup.xml and task_~1.001.

How should I install to my smartphone?

Sorry, I am new to smartphone.

In ActiveSync press explore and then 'My Smartphone'. Then copy the file to IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories. Then on your phone from the homescreen press Programs > Accessories and click the name of the file you copied over. Install it and it will appear on your programs menu

Thanks. But if after that and I select the _setup.xml file, one blank screen displayed with heading "untitled". If I select the task_~1.001 file, it just say no application related........

Please help. Mine is Mio 8390.

You downloaded a CAB file, presumably...?

CAB files are pretty-much ZIP files, so you can see their contents, but that's not how you install to your Smartphone. Instead, you need to copy the entire CAB file (containing the setup and task files) to your phone as a single file, then use SmartExplorer to open the cab file on your phone. It will then miraculously install!

or copy the .cab file to storage/windows/start menu/accessories (spve200)

Or ipms/windows/start menu/accessories (spv / e100 /mpx200 etc)

then run file from start menu/accessories

Yes, I got it. Thank you so much !!

When I first download, my winzip open automatically and so i assume they are zip files and i unzip them. Never discover they are cab files.

BTW, could you tell me what is spve200; spv / e100 /mpx200 etc?? Are they cpu series ? But i find mine is ARM PXA262 ......

Also, should we always put installable files into accessary ? Or any place could work?

Thanks!!

I have used both Oxios Todo or Developerone Task Manager & I favour the Oxios app as it has better functionality.

All those names you have mentioned above are different product names for various handsets all running Microsoft Smartphone software.

The file does not always have to be put in Accessories, however it's useful as the phone will instantly pick up on the file being added to the Statr Menu. The shortcut to the app will be put in the default folder (not necassarily Accessories).

The file does not always have to be put in Accessories

but it does make sense, because of course, if you put a new file into a Start Menu (sub-)directory, then it won't appear until the phone rebuilds the menu for that (sub-)directory. It does this when you navigate to a different part of the start menu than the (sub-)directory you're interested in...

and what this means is that if you put the CAB file in Accessories, then call up the Start Menu, what you see is the (not-rebuilt) menu for the root of the Start Menu. When you then go into Accessories, it has to rebuild the menu - and thus your CAB file appears.

If you put it in the root of the Start Menu, it won't appear until you go into the Start Menu, go into a sub-directory of the menu, then go back up...

The point of putting the file on the Start Menu at all is only that it's an easy way to tell Windows to execute the file, because there's no File Explorer as standard on Smartphone - and don't we all hate that decision... :D
