screen NEVER shuts off, some help???

I have yet another issue I was wondering if anyone knew of, or if it's just me.

the screen NEVER shuts off on this thing, I'm fairly certain that this is why the battery life is so wretched.

the light goes off when it's supposed to, all the screen does is go into some 16 colour mode... it's irritating.

anyone know anything about this? is it supposed to be like that?

Yep, that's perfectly normal. It goes into a lower power mode which uses fewer colours and a low refresh. The battery life is crap because it's a crap handset :D

What XePeR said is that his phone doesn't enter that low power mode.

On my phone I have deactivated this option because otherwise the phone would freze after 1-2h of stand-by. This hapened after the upgrade to WM2003. However, if it's activated it works for me.

And what i said is that there is no low power mode that turns off the screen. On the Compal it simple reduces colour depth and refresh rate.

You cannot turn off the screen on the Compal...
