Guest hank.smith Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 Just wondering if MPx200 can display location/cellular info. My old nokia can show this on main screen under operator logo. You can see f.e. ZIP code of your location or just name. Someone told me to activate to receive channel 50 ???
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 As standard the phone cannot show the transmitter info, with the Nokia as you mentioned above you could enable the engineers mode with teh correct peice of softwarecables.
Guest muzzio_giovanni Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 ehhh!!!! what do you mean???? :? :? :? :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 Engineers mode was used to give tranmitter and network details but most of it was usless information unless you knew about mobile networks.
Guest martin Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 Engineers mode was used to give tranmitter and network details but most of it was usless information unless you knew about mobile networks. It's one of the reasons I still have my very old Nokia phone :D
Guest scott2eyes Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 I think any Smartphone with the relevant homescreen plugin can give location info (eg. the name of the region/local dialling code)- however, most networks (including Orange) don't broadcast it, so it's not all that useful...

Guest martin Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 You could try Settings-Telephony-Channels. I think this has something to do with the broadcast channels.
