Problem out of the blue ... ?

All of a sudden this morning after I took my phone off of the charger it was working and I called out and used it fine. Not 5 minutes later I tried to make a call, and it would not ring (it dialed the number, but nothing past that.) So, as I am used to this phone by now, I turned off the phone. I noticed even after the inside display was off that the outside one was still on (?) ...

I pulled the battery, and sim card and memory just in case, waited for a bit, and now when I boot the phone up, it just sits at the "Mio Digiwalker" white screen after it shows all the pictures of the people at the beginning.

Even when I close the lid the internal display and keypad stay fully lit ...

Any ideas on how to fix this and get my phone working again?

:? Never heard of that before, doesn't sound very nice. Try charging and see if it charges ok e.g green led on the oustside.

If it lights red leave it unitl Green then try again.

I am not sure what to suggest, wait until the pros like schriss n Zim see this thread they will probs have a better reply then this crap one.

Good Luck!

I wonder if it has to do with me using my new USB charger that I got through ebay -- allows you to charge your 8390 via the USB ... I bought both A/C -> USB and D/C -> USB convertors for this, so I can plug this into the wall to charge, or the car as well ... that's all I've done differently, but the odd thing was that it worked this morning, and then suddenly it did not.

update -- I just put the battery back in (had taken it out since my initial post) and turned in on just to see what else I might notice about it, and it booted up finally. . .

seems to take a while longer to complete a call now, but it works, so that's the good news.

Counting down until MPx220 is out so I can ditch this non-supported phone and get one that is. :D

and now it won't come out of Dim mode unless I go and change the time in the power section ... it will then come up normal, but the next time it goes into dim mode it won't come out

... plus it seems my browsing suddenly isn't working.

crikey, I hope this phone isn't going down the tubes!

just turned if off and on again, and it's back to sitting at the Mio Digiwalker orange/white logo screen again. :D

tried off/on again, and it works, plus the dim error isn't happening now :D ... but no internet browsing . . .

I wonder if there is a way I can reset this phone to the factory standard and reload it from there . . . maybe something messed up?

internet browsing is working again. perhaps some of these issues (connection related) are due to TMo, but the others I'm thinking are still with the phone. :/

Yikes, dont like the sound of ur new charger m8 imo ditch it!

Just a quick point, earlier on i was trying to get my Agile messenger working which i did and then went to see if Msn Mesenger worked and it didn't so i fiddled with my Connection Settings for ages, then i realised my Wap wasnt working......AND i couldn't send messages!!!

I'd only gone and ran out of credit whilst using Agile Messenger!!!!

lol i felt such a fool.

Neway check ur call did hang up ok and u didnt run outta credit like me, unless ur on contract and Tmobiles havin problems...

I will try that. More problems this morning. I'm thinking it has to do with this USB charger -- that it's "overloading" the phone or something to that effect, because this morning when I tried to do ANYTHING on the phone it said something about not having enough memory to do whatever, yadda yadda. I'm thinking the USB is good for a 'partial' charge, but to not let it charge up fully on it, as there must be some issue with doing that ... ?I will try that, but don't know where the buttons are on the Mio 8390 that relate to the article there ... can't figure out how to hard boot this bugger ...

also, pulled memory, sim, and battery and let it sit for 45 minutes, and it still won't go past the Mio Digiwalker white/orange boot screen ... :D
