Hey guys, firstly I'd like to say well done on a nice forum :D I've been poking around before registering and I have to say theres some nice information lying here :D

Anyway, back to business. I was wondering if you guys could recommend a smartphone, my obvious choice has been the SPV, although I heard there were problems with the latest version (SPV E200), apparently you cannot turn the bluetooth off and so it drains the battery life? This is only what I have heard. I've been an owner of a shitty Samsung E300 for two years, and I've had enough of it. I reckon its on its way out. Screen changes contrast of colour on its own (when outside o_O), fails to send texts randomly, poor phone call quality. I've had enough

The SPVC500 is due to be released in July, I think, with better battery life and increased bluetooth support. Would it be worth waiting around for that?

Thanks for the advice,

LLA

P.S. I currently own no bluetooth devices, and was wondering what I would need to get bluetooth working with my PC?

You can turn bluetooth off on the e200, but battery life doesnt last very long - couple of days.

The c500 looks like it will cost about £200 + contract, but there are Motorola phones coming out soon that also look good. I think your best holding off until all the phones are released, then you compare size shape etc etc

To get BT working on your PC you can get a dongle that plugs

into your USB.

As for a new phone I would wait a few months but if you want something right now my choice is the mpx200.

Well, I can wait till like the mid-end of July. Ya'see I'm hoping to get one for my birthday :D (lol :D).

I read good things about the mpx200! But good things about the SPV too :D i reckon you guys will have to sell me them, go on, try your best, make me wanna get one! :D

I see, looking around, most people advise or stick by the SPV or mpx, but has anyone tried the Samsung SCH-i600?

Simply put mpx200 more reliable better buid quality and faster than the e200.

Enough said :D

Any idea of what the price is currently for a new one? Contract AND pay as you go?

£200 from www.carphonewarehouse.co.uk on pay as you go

Free on contract from orange (plus free camera in many cases)

Thats cheap o.o;

I paid £200 for my shitty Samsung, it was nice when I got it, for about a week, then polyphonic ringtones came out.. then a colour screen, my phone felt about 3 years old within a month!

EDIT: Apologies for reporting this post, I clicked the red report button instead of edit  Sorry to the "7 moderators" this post has been reported to, being a moderator of forums myself I know what a pain in the ass it can be
