two points really....

1, there are no gameboy advance emulators

2, there never will be any gameboy advance emulators (or rather, gameboy advance emulators now breach a Nintendo Patent)

That patent is arguable. They don't hold the patent to GBA emulation itself, just a patent on 1 method of emulating it.

even w/o the patent, the phone might not be capable of actually emulating a GBA

I know the mpx200 is capable of gba emulation, I just don't think it's right to emulate a system which is still being sold. GBA emulation on a PC is not of importance, but when the emulation moves into a mobile platform then it's invading the GBA's market. If you really want to play GBA games, buy a GBA. When they stop selling GBAs, you'll have an excuse to ask for an emulator.

kind of agree to that, but, the likes of Sega, Namco, Atari like to hold onto their game licenses as it allows them to release classic game packs for future devices, for example, versions of Golden Axe, Sonic, Altered Beast, Outrun etc. are available for the Ngage :D

The simple fact is, in the US fair use allows you to back up the rom for 'archive' purposes, but is playing that rom on another device then classed as an archive???? i think not. Also, there is no such fair use law in the UK, even ripping your albums to MP3 so you can play them on your phone is illegal (although i seriously doubt anyone would get in trouble for doing so). Anyways, this is that age-old rom problem again isnt it, guess i'll shut up :D
