Qtek 8080 - ActiveSync over Bluetooth

Hi,

I just got a Qtek 8080 and I'm having several doubts/problems that I haven't found an answer for in the manual (yes I did RTFM...).

1 - Can't make ActiveSync work over bluetooth (my laptop is bonded to the Phone, but never passes from the Connecting when I choose to Sync over BT). Thru the USB connection everything goes fine...

2 - How do I (if possible) choose different ringtones for different contacts (boy... do I miss my Nokia 3310 sometimes...) :?

3 - Where can I put images to use with the contacts?

This is what I did to get activesync over bluetooth working.

1) Initiate pairing from phone to PC.

2) Initiate pairing from PC to phone (yes u need both).

3) Make sure that the PC bluetooth serial port is set to "AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT".

4) Make sure u know the COMport# for the PC serial bluetooth then go into activesync and under "connection settings" make sure that the same "COMport#" is selected.

5) Make sure you turn on both incoming and outgoing serial ports on the phone, on mine its COM6 and COM7 respectively.

Once all the above is done, you start ACTIVESYNC FROM the Phone, and then choose "Connection via Bluetooth" and you should be syncing!

I was lacking the the second COM port (the PC Client side)

As soon as I did it everything went smooth!

No Problemo Dsylvian, only thing I hate about Activesyncing over bluetooth is the SPEED. Try copying mp3s over the air =( but anything else is bearable!
