Guest barry_slobb Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Hello - I am quite a newbie so apols for this. I tried installing the Xbox .hme file, by copying to my phone and then using Smart Explorer to 'run' the file - trouble is that I just get a prompt asking for a command/parameters - it seems like the .hme file doesn't really mean anything to the phone. Do I need to install any additional files first - eg a plug-in? Thanx! Bazza
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Where did you get the skin from, and which phone have you got ?
Guest dark_spice Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 just put the phone in IPSMApplication DataHome directory, no need to run it. Then select the XBox home in your home settings.
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 So it's a .xml file rather than .hme ? If you have an E200, that's obviously Storage Application Data Home.
Guest barry_slobb Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Hi - the phone is a regular Orange SPV 'classic' - I can't remember where I downloaded the xbox theme from, but it is an hme file. I followed some instructions on coolsmartphone.com on how to install hme files and I am pretty sure it said use Smart Explorer to locate the file on the device and 'run' it. Obviousley something aint right - either the instructions OR the file. Baz
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 The way I would do it is to copy & paste the .hme into IPSM Windows Start Menu Accessories, then with left soft button (Start now, but was it Programs ?) go to the Accessories folder and click on the .hme icon. The skin should install itself like any other software. I would have thought that clicking on it with Smart Explorer would do the same thing, but clearly not in your case !
