Guest ssmythe Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 I have set "Ring volume" on my profile to "Loud" and Ring type to "Increasing Ring" and find that the ring volume is too low except after a few seconds, by which time the phone has switched to answerphone. I have also tried Ring type="Ring", but that's too quiet as well, due to my working in a noisy environment. Is there a way of increasing the ring volume a LOT, or increasing the no. of rings before the answerphone cuts in? I'm on Orange UK by the way if that makes a difference.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Best bet is to find a loud ringtone, I one I use is an old telephone box which has always been loud enough for me. Also make sure the flip is closed because when it is open it actually swaps to it's own profile which is quieter than standard.
Guest ssmythe Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Good to know I'm not missing some obvious setting. Thanks for the tip about the flip. I was thinking about creating a "loud" ringtone by using CoolEdit to edit a *.wav file to make sure it's running at maximum level. Do you think this is a good idea, or are other kinds of sound file likely to work better for max volume on this phone? Best bet is to find a loud ringtone, I one I use is an old telephone box which has always been loud enough for me. Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Your idea should work, as I said I just found a naturally loud ringtone :D Have a go and see if it helps.Telephone Box.zip
