Hi

I got my MPx 200 a month or so ago and wanted to ask some questions.

My carrier is AT&T wireless in the U.S.

1.Is a At&T wireless MPx 200 locked? If so in which way? Software, or in frequencies or both? From what I seen in the fourms the AT& T version is a 2 band (physically) only mobile. Is that correct?

2. I take it no one has seen a 2003 upgrade as of yet for the mobile? Or is there an upgrde available? I have seen once again in the fourms that it may or may not be out as of yet.

3. Do I need a unlock such as SPVUnlock or Boot Loader(whatever boot loader is) and where can I find it?

4. If I do unlock the phone for say "I want to change service providers" how can I do this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

p.s. What the heck is SPV? :D

Welcome to the site :D

The phone is SIM locked to prevent you using it on other networks. It is also only dual band but the european MPX200 is tri band, software wise the phone is not locked on AT&T

It's highly unlikely there will be an official public release of 2003 on the phone.

These two questions are one and the same really, On the MPX200 there is not a bootloader as such and the SPVUnlock app is designed for the SPV and E100.

For SIM unlocking your phone you need to go to www.imei-check.co.uk

this is the most reliable site for SIM unlocking your phone.

thanks for the help awarner.

I want to make sure I understand this correctly. To unlock the sim I would use the url you provided but, I only want to do this if I am going to change service providers, correct? If i stay with AT&T I have no reason to unlock the phone?

Hope I have this right, it will solve a big question I have had.

One last question

I was going through all the files on the MPx200 earlier today and wonderd if is it ok to delete any extra home page jpg's I will not be using of for that fact any other midi files I won't be using? Also can you recommend a application that I can veiw my mail folders and delete any unwanted messages, a task veiwer so I may close any or all task running all within the same application? I am looking for if any a program for managing the mobiles memory for storage and programs.

Thanks again for the help :D

Correct, you only have to SIM unlock if you wish to use another operators network.

The ringtones etc cannot be deleted as they are on the ROM and they are not worth removing anyway.

As for an app for managing your phone what you need are the two excellent apps by www.binarys.com

Task Manager and Smart Explorer
