Rick Dangerous Help Needed - Fed Up

Can anyone tell me how i get past this section

No matter how many times i always get hit by the arrows.

I watched the animation on http://www.deconstruction.f9.co.uk/rick/demos.htm

but when i play it i get a third arrow that zaps me.

Is it possible on the e200?

Also previous to this map when i went up the ladders to collect the jewel the game crashes every time. so i just skipped collecting it.

...look again at the movie - you will notice rick does a little run after landing on the first platform before jumping to the next. Then you gotta immediately crouch and shoot the wall to remove the spikes above the ladder. I tried this 20 or 30 times before I gave up and moved on to the next frame changing the rick.dat file using a hexadecimal editor
