Guest jameshendry Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Just got my first smart phone, an SPV e200 on Orange. If you go to the Orange website you can get some great tariffs at the moment, including the one I have got which allows me to download two free games per month! The only thing I am curious about is the fact that the games on Handango (which is what I get to when I follow the 'Claim your games' link on My Orange page) seem to range from $2.50 to about $25.00 - surely I can't pick anything from that selection?? Well, if I can that'd be nice - I think Pocket Mini Golf plus extra courses will be my first freebie! I'm guessing the tariff is actually designed for people who play Java games, and they probably hadn't thought of the fact that Smartphone games are much more expensive! Anyone else on this tariff and got any thoughts? James
Guest midnight Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 cool, make sure one of your free games is Eclipse :D
Guest jameshendry Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Hiya, It's here: Orange Your Plan At the top there, there's lots of different tariffs, mine's £30 a month including 200 minutes of talk, 120 texts, 2MB of GPRS and 2 free games!! The way you get the free games is to connect to your Orange page from your phone, then follow the link that says 'Claim your games' and it takes you to Handango where you can choose from the list. Is Eclipse available there then? I'll check it out as you were so kind to respond to my first ever thread... 8) James
Guest drblow Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Hmm ... that link only takes me to a page which has expired. When I try to sign into my account, it asks me for a password - I never set a password for an Orange account?? Bet this is one of those offers for new customers only ...
Guest Pondrew Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Here you go drblow: Not a bad offer. May sign upto it myself...click here EDIT: Unfortunately you were absolutely right. Just came off the line from speaking with a chap called Nigel (very helpful - as far as possible anyway) at OCS. He confirmed the offer is for new customers only. :D
Guest martin Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Hmmm, sounds too good to be true :? Have you checked the terms and conditions. Click "See terms" at the bottom of the 'Your plan' page. Then click Exclusive Your Plan offers Not entirely sure but it may just be free java games for Nokia phones.
Guest jameshendry Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Yep, unfortunately it seems you may well be right- just spent a while on the phone to orange myself and they seem to think it is for java games only... they didn't really know what to tell me! They offered me to change to the tariff with more texts but then I don't get any GPRS and I definitely need that. So they are looking into it and calling me back- hopefully they are going to come up with a way to honour the contract to supply 2 free games a month! We shall see... Posted for the first time ever from my SmartPhone!
Guest unclelimey Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 cool, make sure one of your free games is Eclipse :D have you no shame???
Guest mowog Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 I saw this plan 3 weeks ago and signed up for it. The snag is the games are NOT for the smartphone, but for one of those Nokia type of smartphones. I wasn't told this in the store, in fact the store only new about the plan when i mentioned it after seeing it on the orange web site. If you read the the small print it does state that it is for a small number of phones. if it looks to good to be true, it usually is....:D
Guest delski Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I signed up for that tariff, but had so many hassles, i dropped the free games and got 400min 240 texts for 6 mths!!!! Result! Del
