Guest zedeff Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 Hi, This is my first post on any site. I have installed n number of home screens on my Xphone (E200). Now I can't seem to uninstall most of these including K1dlr Chrome which is not working on the phone by the way. I tried PHM reg edit but I cant even delete the values in the registry. Any help would be much appreciated.
Guest Cybertronic Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 Have you tried deleting them from StorageApplication DataHome ?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 Welcome to the site :D After installing home screens (I presume you mean themes rather than just homescreen pictures) you should be able to uninstall them by going to StartSettingsRemove Programs You need to uninstall themes correctly other wise it leaves clutter on the phone.
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 I think there may be a real problem here. I've been unable to uninstall some homescreens, either by the Settings route or the Active Sync method. Currently I can't uninstall OrangeWinger's Windows Media Player plugin and I had trouble with Dr Blow's Silver Tabs skin and Midnight's MoDaCo3 :? I don't think I'm alone as others have posted the same problem.
Guest zedeff Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 I have tried unistalling them but it gives a message saying you cannot iuninstall this. I also tried deleting the reg entries tru PHM reg edit but it does not allow me to delete the relavent keys. Deleting the individual files is possible but it leaves clutter as you said. Any other work around :?:
Guest midnight Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 what happens is this....... when you install 1 homescreen it sets the homescreen layout, reg entries, extra screens etc. Now, when you install another it overwrites some reg settings When you come to uninstall the first homescreen it cant because it cant find the correct reg entries Solution: only have one custom homescreen installed at a time. (also, in the Customisation section is an Extra Screens restore cab i made for those having problems)
