imate ROM 1.10.15.2: "G" stays visible

I upgraded to imate ROM 1.10.15.2

Can anyone please tell me if it is normal that now after the first GPRS activity (e.g. accessing a website etc.) the small boxed "G" next to the signal indicator always stays visible ?

With previous firmware versions this small "G" always disappeared when the GPRS data have been transferred (e.g. website successfully downloaded etc.)

Can I check if the session is really not (yet) closed or if there might be something wrong ?

Don't know about the new update - haven't installed it as yet but I also had the G symbol stay after GPRS activity. However you can make it go away by pressing and holding Home button and then using Disconnect GPRS

detach GPRS: It does it changes?

Hello,

thanks to both of you for the replies.

Indeed *then* the small "G" (the one next to the level indicator) vanished.

Didn't know this function...

Question however is:

Is this in any way "dangerous" if the session is not terminated ?

In the previous firmware versions it was a sure proof for me that the session is closed after searching a page if also this small "G" was gone.

Though the big "G" remained visible as a sign that there is a GPRS network.

Regards

G

hi, in this rom update if you press the red key it wont shut down the gprs connection.

The best test is open msn messenger login and then press the red key. Even if you press and hold it wont shut down the connection but it will lock your keypad.

That's a great feature for me. That way i can keep msn open with the phone on my pocket.

Set the notifications to vibrate and sound and you will always be online.

TIP: creat a new msn with a few contacts otherwise your gprs bill will not be very pleasent.

Just add the important ones.
