Guest bolasz Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 I'd like to put a 100MB file on the SD card but at 30-40 megs async keeps disconnecting, doesn't matter whether I connect via the cradle or BT. Any ideas whats wrong?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 Yep basically the file tranfer is timng out. For moving large files you need to get a USB card reader and transfer the files to your SD card that way. Card readers are faily cheap and for an example have a look at www.ebuyer.com
Guest bolasz Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Thanks, awarner. You're right, I was just wondering because my friends don't have any problems with this.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 The problem with the connector on the phone is that it's serial (even though it connects via USB) and this is known to be slow on data transfer.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Its a good idea to get a card reader anyway. But I cant read my E200 cards (used different ones all the same) in my card reader. I used to have the same problem with transferring large files but since I upgraded my Activesync to 3.7.1 it works, or rather it gets to 30-40%, looks like its starting again, does this a few times and eventually the file is transferred. This was listed as a known bug by Microsoft in Activesync 3.7.0 and previous versions (the version on the CD from Orange is 3.7.0) but it does work now but like Awarner says its s-l-o-w
