if its arm then it could be ported. just depends on a few thing i.e. how much memory it takes screen size etc

Essentially what you are saying is that a app developed for pocket PC will work on Smartphone ? Say just like an app developed using Win98 usually works in Win2K ?

I am a complete newbie at mobile device OS so need some knowledge...thanx.

yes it does.....

but if program can ignore or understand diffrences in resolation,no mouse inpurt, and all those missing dlls

i theary you can make them work if only mimicing input....you can also simply ignore graphics not shown....

but i see no use of doing that....it is best of developer himself try to make it also work on smartphone

- witness the beauty of BetaPlayer - one download, one embedded Visual C++ project, but compiles for PocketPC and Smartphone (with different user interfaces) because picard_beta's designed and built the thing so beautifully.

Smartphone and PocketPC apps will often run on the other platform even though the UI is usually broken. For instance, there's a Remote TV Controller app for PocketPC that *does* pop its UI on-screen on Smartphone (no, the remote bit doesn't work), and my very own Flamethrower Carnage for Smartphone, *does* run under PocketPC without being recompiled...

Less than you'd think, but more than you'd like... ;-)
